Private Hindu Cremation Services Sydney

A private and traditional Hindu funeral and cremation for families who prefer a smaller, more personal farewell.

A Complete Hindu Funeral in a Private Crematorium

Not every family needs a large funeral chapel.

For families who have recently arrived from India, are temporarily living in Australia, or simply do not have a large extended family or community network in Sydney, organising a traditional Hindu funeral can sometimes feel overwhelming.

You may only have a small number of family members and close friends here.

You may still want to perform the appropriate Hindu funeral rites.

And you may want the funeral and cremation to remain private, intimate and centred around your family.

Agnee Funeral Services can arrange the entire funeral ceremony and cremation at our private crematorium.

Rather than moving your loved one and family between multiple venues, the religious ceremony and cremation can be brought together in one private setting.

Traditional Rites. Intimate Surroundings.

The number of people attending a funeral does not determine its significance.

A small funeral can still be a deeply meaningful and traditional farewell.

We work with your family’s Pandit, or can assist with arranging an experienced
Hindu priest, to conduct the appropriate prayers and rites according to your
family’s traditions.

Our private cremation arrangements can allow for two havans as part of the funeral rites, with the family remaining together throughout the ceremony.

Because the funeral takes place within the crematorium environment, there is no need to conclude the religious service at one venue and then travel elsewhere for the cremation.

Everything is brought together respectfully and privately.

Witness Insert Cremation Ceremony

For many Hindu families, what happens at the point of cremation is particularly important.

Our private crematorium allows us to offer a Witness Insert Cremation Ceremony, where the family can accompany their loved one through the final stage of the funeral and witness the coffin being respectfully placed into the cremator.

For families who wish to participate in this part of the final farewell, it can provide an important sense of completion.

There is no uncertainty about what happens after the funeral ceremony.

Your family is able to remain present until your loved one is respectfully committed for cremation.

Ashes for Australia and India

For many Indian families living in Australia, the funeral journey does not necessarily end in Sydney.

There may be religious rites the family wishes to perform here in Australia, while other rites may be performed with relatives when the ashes are taken home to India.

Where requested and appropriate, we can arrange for the cremated remains to be provided in two urns.

One urn may remain with the family for rites to be undertaken in Australia.

The second can be taken to India, allowing relatives there to participate in the family’s further rites and observances.

This can be particularly meaningful when parents, siblings or extended family members in India were unable to travel to Australia for the funeral.

Your Pandit can advise your family on the religious rites appropriate to your particular traditions.

We can assist with the practical requirements associated with receiving and transporting the ashes.

Particularly Suitable for Families With Limited Support in Sydney

We regularly meet families from India who suddenly find themselves arranging a funeral in a country where they may have very little family support.

Sometimes only a husband or wife is here.

Sometimes it is a small family with a few close friends.

Sometimes most of the person’s parents, siblings and extended family remain in India.

In those circumstances, a large Australian-style funeral may neither be necessary nor appropriate.

What the family often needs is something much simpler:

A Funeral Director who understands Hindu funerals.

A Pandit who can guide the religious rites.

A private place for the family to perform those rites.

A cremation they can remain present for.

And someone to take care of all the arrangements.

That is what this service is designed to provide.

Everything in One Place

From the moment your loved one comes into our care, Agnee Funeral Services can coordinate the entire funeral.

We take care of the necessary funeral and cremation documentation, preparation of your loved one, coffin, flowers and funeral arrangements.

We coordinate with the Pandit and the private crematorium.

Your family attends the funeral, performs the appropriate rites and can remain present through the Witness Insert Cremation Ceremony.

Following the cremation, we arrange for the ashes to be returned according to the arrangements made with your family.

One Funeral Director. One private location. One complete Hindu farewell.

“A Smaller Funeral Does Not Mean a Lesser Farewell”

For us, this is perhaps the most important part.

Families should never feel that because only a small number of people can attend, their loved one is receiving anything less than a meaningful funeral.

Sometimes the most beautiful farewells are the most intimate.

There is time for prayer.

There is time for family.

There is privacy.

And there is the opportunity to remain with your loved one through the final stages of their journey.

If your family is in Sydney while most of your relatives remain in India, talk to us.

You do not need a large gathering to provide your loved one with a dignified and traditional Hindu farewell.

You simply need the right people around you to make it possible.
